7 vs Vista - x64 Ultimate Editions - A month of 7

I've been using Windows 7 now for a month this week and it's been great. As you may or may not recall, I have installed both Vista x64 Ultimate and 7 x64 Ultimate on the same computer, my main computer that I have been using for over 3 years now. A Dual Core x64 AMD 4400, ATI x1800XT in crossfire mode, 3gb of ram, and 7200 SATAII drives (same drives too)

After being in 7 for a month without having to go back to my old hard drive to gather any data up, thanks to Mesh synchronizing everything for me, I just haven't had to go into Vista. Well I've been putting off going back into Vista to get my iTunes library information so I finally broke down and did.

Let me tell you that there is a HUGE difference in performance from Vista to 7, remember, same hardware. Vista is just like a slug compared to 7. I couldn't believe how sluggish and just how much longer things take to compute. It's just amazing!!!

This is mainly for the geeks out there that really want to compare the two side by side but I recommend getting 7 and running it up against your copy of Vista. It is like night and day! I have a hard drive bay that I use to swap hard drives out, it sits in a CD drive bay and it's seamless, shut down, swap, boot up. I have XP 64, Vista x64 and 7 x64 that I use to swap out. (Vista x64 will be going bye bye when I make sure I have everything. XP64 is my gaming system).

It's truly amazing the speed difference. Unless you do a comparison or upgrade to 7, you will not know how much 7 "feels".

Good job Microsoft for fixing something when people make a stink about it.
